Who we are
Hi! Welcome to City Church!
We are a community that loves God, loves people and loves our City. We are all about one thing - 'Growing Mature Followers of Jesus'. Wherever you are in life, whatever stage you find yourself in, there is space here for you. Have a look around and let us know if there is anything we can help with.
In Person Service
We know how going to a new place for the first time can make us feel a little nervous, but you are always guaranteed a warm welcome at City Church.

Our Sunday service starts at 10.00am each week.

You do not need to book in advance or be a member to attend our gathering. Visitors are always welcome.
We stream our services Live each week via our Facebook and Youtube channels, but there's nothing quite like being with us in person!
Car Parking

We are located down the far end of Lyon Way industrial estate, which can also be accessed on-foot via the Alban Way.
We do have an onsite car park with limited spaces, so we do suggest arriving a little earlier around 9.45am to secure a car park space.
If you are using a satnav, our postcode is AL4 0LB.
What should I wear
We encourage you to come as you are and how you feel most comfortable. For some that may be your best suit/dress, and for others that may be jeans and a tee.
What Happens in a Service

Our services usually start with our team leading us in a time of singing called 'Praise and Worship'. The songs that we sing are a mixture of classic and contemporary Christian music. The lyrics come up on our screens so feel free to sing along or just listen.
Life is full of many challenges and we love to take a moment in our services to pray for those in need. We believe prayer is a way in which we can talk with God and the Bible tells us that we can ask for His help, bring our requests to Him and He will meet us in our time of need.
We then have a time of teaching from the Bible. It's always great to have a notebook and pen handy to write down anything that stood out for you. Don't worry if you haven't got a Bible, we have some spares that you can borrow during the service.
To finish our time together, we make our way to our Gathering Area where we enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit (or 2) and a chance to meet people and catch up. We also have juice for the children. This part is very informal and a great way to meet new people and build friendships.
Kids

Children and young people of all ages are welcome here.
We love to have our time of Praise and Worship together as a family, so the children remain in the service and encouraged to take part in worship and prayer. We have flags that the children are welcome to wave during worship.
After this point, the children will leave the service with our City Kids team to enjoy activities and a Bible-based teaching of their own.
We currently only have facilities for ages 3-10years, however we are always looking at ways to connect with other age groups too, so watch this space.
Other Helpful Info
One Sunday each month we take Communion (bread and wine) together which is a reminder to us as Christians of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. You are usually invited up to the front to take communion, however please feel free to stay seated if you wish to not take part.

During our services, there is also a chance to give financially. Baskets will be passed around for anyone wishing to give a monetary donation to the church. The funds are used to support the work of the church. You can find more information on this on our 'Giving' page.

SUBTITILES
Currently, we are only able to offer written subtitles on our Live streaming. You are always welcome to join us in person whilst also tuning into our Live stream via your mobile device to follow along the written subtitles there.
